10/04/2007: 1st Annual New England Futsal Championships
For the first time in our region, title teams from each of the New
England Futsal affiliate leagues will be awarded an invitation to
play for the title of New England Futsal Champion! Title teams in
each age category and gender shall play for a NEF Championship
title on March 16, 2008 at the Mansfield
Sportsplex.

The Norfolk County
Fusal League announces that it's adult league participants will
be eligible for team selection for U.S. Futsal National
teams representing the United States at the upcoming 2007 Pan
American Games being hosted by Rio de Janeiro in July of 2007.
The inclusion of Futsal in the Pan American Games is widely
perceived as a stepping stone to its acceptance in the
Olympics
in the 2012 games!
As
the
National Director of Coaches
for the
USFF,
our league director Bill
Sampaio
shall
participate in the player
selection process
and is
hopeful to have
New England well represented.
08/21/2006: Mansfield, MA - The Norfolk County Futsal
League announces that it will hold all of its 2006-07 regular
season games and tournament
matches at the Mansfield Sportsplex, (the former Dana Barros
Sports Complex). This
season's schedules will include opportunities to play Futsal on
Saturday and / or Sunday afternoons as well as take advantage of
personalized training on Monday and Wednesday evenings!

Mansfield, MA Beginning with the 2006-2007 season, a Norfolk
County Futsal League Playoff Committee comprised of league
participant coaches, parents and referees shall be established to
oversee standings, team flight placement and in general,
facilitate operation of session playoffs, volunteer assignments,
award presentation and referee assignments

01/16/2005: The Norfolk
County Futsal League was well
represented in the annual Massachusetts
Futsal Association's State Cup
Championships and fared very well.
Out of the 7 age categories comprising
in the event, 5 of the categories were
championed by Norfolk County Futsal
League affiliated teams
and in 4 of those categories Norfolk
County Futsal League affiliate teams
placed as 1st runner up.
Norfolk County Futsal continues to lead
the state in the level of youth futsal
played in Massachusetts, as is evidenced
by these results.

The 2006 Massachusetts Futsal State Cup
is scheduled to take place at the Dana
Barros
 Sports
Complex in Mansfield, Massachusetts on
January 14 & 15, 2006. This year's
State Cup Event will be co-hosted and
sponsored by Essex County Futsal and
Norfolk County Futsal.
This year's State Cup is being
co-chaired by Mr. Timothy Kaliff and Mr.
Matthew Albertini. The event registrar
and administrator is Mrs. Brenda Davis.

Norfolk County
Futsal
League announces that is has officially
registered it's 80th team for league
play in this the first session of the
2005-2006 futsal season,
Making
this league the largest such futsal
league in all of Massachusetts and
perhaps even the largest such league in
all of New England.
Norfolk County Futsal League (NCFL) is
run under the direction of Bill Sampiao,
who is also the National Director of
Coaching for the United States Futsal
Federation. NCFL is an affiliate futsal
league of New England Futsal and
operates as a United States Futsal
Federation (USFF) sanctioned league. The
United States Futsal Federation is the
only officially recognized national
governing authority that oversees all
Futsal league development, policies and
competitions throughout the United
States under the auspices of the United
States Youth Soccer Association and
FIFA.
Last year, in our inaugural year, the
NCFL registered 74 teams throughout the
entire winter season. In just the first
session alone of this year we have
registered 80 teams and we have teams
who have already reserved spots for
session #2 that were unable to play in
the first session due to scheduling
conflicts. "We are ecstatic with the
response players and coaches have made
and we are humbled by the confidence
they have placed in our futsal program
here at Norfolk County", says Bill
Sampaio. "This is quite the measure of
success for our program, which had to
compete for teams amongst two other
start-up indoor leagues that were
looking to attract players and teams
within very close proximity to our
program", adds Sampaio.

Futsal State Cup Championships with
Essex County Futsal. The event

courts at the Dana Barros Sports Complex

07/25/2005: New England
Futsal reports that Massachusetts Futsal
teams obtained fantastic results at the
2005 NATIONAL FUTSAL CHAMPIONSHIPS held
in Anaheim, California this month.
Massachusetts Futsal was represented by
14 teams that qualified for the United
States Futsal Federation 20th Annual
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS and came away
with some very impressive results. 13 of
those teams were Norfolk County Futsal
League participants.
Norfolk County Futsal League Team results follow:
THE PRIDE FC U-10 BOYS, COACHED BY MATT
ALBERTINI, took the Bronze Medal after
dropping a 2 x 0 score against the very
talented MACSA U-10 Boys in the
semifinals, who eventually won the Gold
Medal in that boys division.
THE NEW BEDFORD PITBULLS U-12 GIRLS,
COACHED BY REV. DOGBA BASS, took the
Gold Medal after four days of stiff
competition that culminated by defeating
PRINCETON UNITED in the finals.
SHOOTING STARS U-16 GIRLS, COACHED BY
RICK ZANCHI, took the GOLD MEDAL, after
some great competition during the
qualifying rounds and a wonderful show
at the finals against a well talented
Diablo Valley FC team. The SHOOTING
STARS, who had previously won TWO GOLD
MEDALS IN THE U-14 DIVISIONS in the
years of 2002 and 2003, added a third
star to its history.
THE NEW ENGLAND FUTSAL MEN, COACHED BY
BILL SAMPAIO, took home the BRONZE
MEDAL, after playing undefeated during
qualifying rounds, defeating MACSA FC,
PRO-SALA FC and DEPT. LAGUNA during the
qualifying rounds. New England Futsal,
after an electrifying 2 x 2 semifinal
against SERCORP, fell short on the
penalty shootout to the team that would
eventually win the Mens Open Division.
