Okay folks, here we go! First and foremost. Happy New Year. I hope everyone was able to enjoy the holiday season, even if it was futsal-less. The survey results from the league members tallied a whopping 68% in favor of trying to locate our games at a facility that would allow us to stabilize the schedule and have games on Saturday, even if it meant not doing so in Fall River. In addition, the separate survey of school coordinators resulted in only two respondents not in favor of moving to yet another venue. New England Futsal will host Massachusetts Futsal State Cup Championships in January 2009!

New England Futsal will begin accepting online team registrations for the upcoming 2009 Massachusetts State Cup Championships. This annual state championship serves as the qualifier for team acceptance into the United States Futsal Federation Northeast /Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships being held in New York in February. New England Futsal
teams fared extremely well at the 23rd Annual US
Futsal National Championships. New England teams
 combined
for a total of 9 medals as they emerged from this
nation's most prestigious national futsal event
that took place from July 10th through the 13th at
the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore,
Maryland. Two of those national medallist teams
are from Rhode Island and 7 are from
Massachusetts. The HPC Eagles playing in the
Women's Open Division came away from the competition
crowned as the 2008 National Champions!

The New England Futsal men's
'United' team took 1st place in the 200 8 US Futsal Northeast
/ Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship this past weekend at the Forekicks Sports
Complex in Norfolk, Massachusetts. Teams
from Maine to Virginia participated in this year's
regional competition from ages U10 to Adult Open.

Futsal Training System, LLC, and will launch a new and
exciting online service for coaches and players in 2008.
